this week at work i did a shaft alignment and new shaft bearings on a seiner. the people who did the orginal install was way off on the alignment so it burnt up the old bearings. we lifted the engine up and redid the mounts and replaced the old bearings. this was my first shaft alignment on a larger engine (6135 john deer) so that was pretty cool. i also finished up doing another d4 225 sterndrive install on a small puget sound crabber.
i learned the importantence of having one of those larger shafts aligned properly because being off just a little bit can cause big problems
